At 5:00 pm EDT today there was a Solar Eclipse at 11 degrees Gemini! This is the first eclipse in Gemini as we move from the Cancer/Capricorn eclipse signs of the past couple of years. We had a lunar eclipse in late Sagittarius at the end of 2010 which ushered in the Gemini/Sagittarius pair, but this will be our first Solar Eclipse for the cycle.
I mentioned before that I think that eclipses in Water signs can be particularly hard to deal with as the changes they bring can be so visceral. However, one should not discount the “Winds of Change” so to speak for eclipses in Air Signs! Hence, the “Air/Wind Solar Eclipse Mixtape!” for this New Moon Eclipse! While air might not seem the most powerful of the elements, think of the recent tornados to get an idea of the power it can have under the right circumstances. It seems we are scheduled for some big changes this Summer! We’ll have to see where the wind takes us!
I will be traveling during this Full Moon in late Leo, Sun in late Aquarius, which occurred at 3:30 am today (coincidentally when I got up this morning in order to catch my am flight!), so I thought I’d use this as inspiration for this mix tape! We’ll be moving into the sign of Pisces, which clocks in at 2 pm EDT today, the sign of the fish. Pisces is also the sign of the mystic. Although a Taurus, I feel a bit Piscean a lot of the time because my Sun is in the 12th house, the house that Pisces and Neptune, Pisces ruler, presides over. Plus I have beaucoups of Neptune aspects in my chart. So I tend to tune out to tune in, so to speak. I often feel I could really drop out of society if required. I almost always forget my hairbrush when traveling and sometimes mid way through my trip think maybe I should not only give up brushing my hair and become a Rastafarian or something but also give up on society and start living in an ashram.
But my Taurean groundedness (and love of indoor plumbing and hot showers) always gets the better of me and soon I’m back in society and happy to be back! However, the experience of seeing that the world is a very different place all over the world is a good one. We are not all the same. And that’s the good news! We can all learn from each other. As they say, traveling is broadening. Perhaps I should get a card like Holly GoLightly had in “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” that reads:
“Ms. Sasha Astromuse; Traveling.”
However, consider this “Traveling Full Moon Mixtape” my calling card! Hope you enjoy, and swim the Piscean waters coming up this month!
